ABOUT US

OUR HISTORY

The Princess-Audrey Foundation was established out of a deep-seated commitment to social justice and human dignity. Our founders, who have personally experienced poverty, inadequate healthcare, and limited educational opportunities, recognized the urgent need to create an organization that directly addresses these challenges.
With a passion for humanitarian service and years of experience in business, social work, and advocacy, our leadership team has developed a strong framework for delivering impactful solutions. From small-scale community assistance programs to broader regional initiatives, our foundation has continuously evolved to meet the growing needs of disadvantaged communities.

Our Vision

To build a society where all citizens, regardless of background, have access to the necessary support and opportunities to achieve self-reliance. We envision a world where poverty and hardship are eradicated, and vulnerable populations are empowered to actively participate in society with dignity and equality.

Our Mission

To create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, social injustice, the education system, healthcare, and overall community welfare. Through strategic interventions and community-driven initiatives, we work to uplift vulnerable populations and promote sustainable development.

Our Values

Empathy:
We are kind, concerned and sensitive to the individuality of emotions that affect people and their lives.

Diversity:
We find power in embracing and appreciating differences to learn from and honour one another.

Integrity:
Our strong integrity ensures we are honest, accountable, and transparent in everything we do

Transformative:
Through our innovative work, we enact action to inspire brighter futures and transformative change.

Approach & Methodology

Our approach is community-centred, collaborative, and results-driven. We:

1. Engage Local Communities – Work closely with grassroots organizations, leaders, and residents to identify pressing needs.
2. Collaborate with Stakeholders – Partner with government bodies, NGOs, corporate sponsors, and private sector organizations to maximize impact.
3. Implement Sustainable Programs – Develop solutions that foster long-term self-sufficiency rather than dependency.
4. Monitor and Evaluate – Assess progress and adjust strategies to ensure continued effectiveness and efficiency.

Our Initiative

We plan to establish a multi-service community hub in a major city to support vulnerable individuals, including orphans, the elderly, and victims of abuse and rejection. Ultimately, our goal is to create a network of sustainable hubs across Africa, fostering empowerment and resilience.

  • Establish permanent community support hubs offering shelter, training, and essential services.
  • Increase collaborations with national and international partners to amplify our impact.
  • Develop sustainable enterprises that generate income to support long-term humanitarian initiatives.

Board of Directors

Zola Mbewu

Chairperson and Executive Director – I was born in rural South Africa, where I experienced the daily struggle of walking kilometers to school. My school had no proper structure, limited books, and few qualified teachers. In my village, there were no healthcare facilities, skills training, or career guidance opportunities. Despite these challenges, I persevered through many difficult turns and eventually became a business owner in the commodities sector. As a passionate humanitarian, I am dedicated to giving back to Africa and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Siphokazi Laxa

Director – I was born in the small town of Cala in the Eastern Cape, where I witnessed the harsh realities of poverty, gender-based violence, and other societal challenges. Determined to be part of the solution, I committed myself to community work, volunteering with nonprofit organizations to provide counseling, facilitation, and encouragement. I also played a key role in feeding schemes to support the hungry. My passion for social change extends beyond my work, as I am dedicated to instilling humanitarian values. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, I firmly believe that no one should turn a blind eye to injustice in time such as this.
